Neodymium Ring Magnets are like discs or cylinders, but with a center hole. Most neodymium ring magnets and tube-shaped magnets are axially magnetised: North and south poles are located on the flat circular surfaces (“Ylä-ja alaosa”). The few diametrically magnetised neodymium ring magnets with poles “left and right” are specifically marked.

Due to their shape, it is very tempting to screw-mount ring magnets. But please keep in mind, the material is very brittle and chips easily. That is why we advise against the screw-mounting of ring magnets with holes. It is much safer and easier if you use screw-on magnets tai countersunk pot magnets.
